AWIPS is a technologically-advanced information processing, display, and telecommunications system, an interactive computer system that integrates meteorolgical and hydrological data, enabling forecasters to prepare forecasts and issue warnings.
MetWise Net provides real-time access to the same data used by the National Weather Service. It includes satellite imagery, radar, surface observations and forecast models. The MetWise Net interface permits a user to display and rapidly switch between five different product windows. The interface uses standard pull-down menus, a primary graphics window and four product storage windows. Once the user loads a product it can be moved to a storage window with one mouse click for quick retrieval. Very similar to the NOAA version
